Mo was born and raised in Evans County, Georgia. Growing up in such a conservative community presented immense challenges for Mo, who was exploring their identity within the LGBTQ+ community. Despite all this, they excelled in their extracurriculars, graduated at the top of their class, and subsequently studied psychology and sociology at the University of Georgia with the original intent of going into academia.
Mo’s life experiences fostered a lifelong desire to fight for the justice and dignity of all people. Through that lens, they developed an extensive record in community organizing, volunteering for political campaigns, leading service work initiatives, and finding ways to provide services or resources to our neighbors in need.
Following the aftermath of the 2016 election and the ramifications it would have on marginalized people from all corners of America, Mo decided to pivot into a heavier focus on electoral politics as an avenue to enact policy change. Still being grounded within the perspective of an activist, Mo's vision is a driving force behind FTR's ethical code.
With several cycles of political experience working on campaigns and then managing campaigns, Mo utilizes their unique combination of sociological knowledge, organizational management skills, artistic talent, and leadership ability to elevate campaigns to a new level.
Alex is a third-generation resident of Roswell, Georgia, and a second-generation graduate of Roswell High School. He held an early interest in politics and government affairs - he pursued this through several avenues, including working as the Editor-in-Chief of Roswell High’s newspaper.
These interests led him to the University of Georgia, where he majored in political science, international affairs, and journalism - intending to become a political journalist. In this role, Alex covered several events live from the scene including Donald Trump’s first campaign rally in Georgia and the Republican National Convention in Cleveland. As a news show anchor, he called the 2016 General Election for Donald Trump on WUOG 90.5 FM.
Alex realized that he could not live with being a “neutral” bystander passively documenting events that would lead to immense harm and suffering for millions of people. From that point, he decided to use his transferable talents from journalism and deep knowledge of political history and data to work on campaigns.
Mo and Alex offer very different complementary talents for any campaign. Alex's experience in journalism and political science research has helped him develop many skills, including copywriting, dataset creation and utilization, financial compliance management, campaign strategy development, and marketing.
